VibraFusion Lab

Haptic Horizons was a three-week long residency in Fall 2024 with Centre[3] and VibraFusion Lab in their studio located in Hamilton, Ontario. Artists had the opportunity to learn about VibraFusion’s partnerships with other artists using their haptic technologies as a medium for accessibility and interaction, and to brainstorm their own partnership project with such technology. Pure Data workshops of programming various signals, projections, frequencies, synthesizers, and vibrations were taught each week to inspire the possibilities of the artists’ projects. The final day concluded with an informal presentation with the artists, Marsha, a deaf-identifying Indigenous activist, and Debbie, Marsha’s ASL interpreter. My project is in its early stages, but may appear in a future exhibition pending funding.
